This module equips learners with the knowledge and tools to evaluate and manage the environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic impacts of tourism. It explores the ethical responsibilities of tourism stakeholders and introduces key sustainability frameworks such as the Triple Bottom Line, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and Community-Based Tourism (CBT). Through real-world case studies and practical strategies, students learn how to design tourism initiatives that protect ecosystems, honor local traditions, and contribute to long-term economic development. The module emphasizes a balanced approach where tourism benefits both hosts and guests—today and in the future.
